Student Residence Wiesbaden

Multiple commissioning 2022 Location: Wiesbaden Client: Studierendenwerk Frankfurt am Main

On an area of approx. 28.15 x 125.60 m, a six-storey student residence with a partial basement is being built. In addition, there will also be a daycare centre, a caretaker’s flat, storage spaces and counselling rooms for the Frankfurt Student Services. The building is accessed from Hollerbornstrasse and lines the entire length of the university’s campus axis.

Inside, several 1-room apartments and shared apartments are clustered around one or more communal or themed rooms. The communal rooms, kitchens and themed rooms open up onto the arcade, bringing life to it. All floors and areas of the student residence are accessible without barriers via the lift in the main staircase, which is designed as a through-loader. In addition, there are 12 barrier-free rooms and 5 wheelchair-accessible rooms distributed across the floors, fully in line with the principle of inclusion.

The apartments and corridors of the standard floors are built in timber construction. The façade is made of prefabricated timber panel wall elements that extend the height of the storeys.
