On the edge of the Killesberg Hill Park the “Wohnen am Höhenpark” (Living at the Hill Park) quarter is being built. In four construction phases, 14 buildings with 5-7 storeys are being built on top of a shared underground garage on the exhibition centre’s former car park.

The buildings are arranged in two rows, forming an elongated courtyard in the shape of a rhombus. The two buildings on Maybachstrasse are connected on the 1st and 2nd floors, forming a so-called “gatehouse” that serves as the portal for pedestrians to the semi-public courtyard, from where the main entrances of the residential buildings are reached. The lower floors of the gatehouse accommodate a daycare centre and a commercial unit.

The elongated courtyard takes on an urban character towards Maybachstrasse, while the area rising towards the park in the west is partially landscaped with greenery. The courtyard is flanked by brick-faced walls of the shared podium, bringing the buildings together as a cohesive unit. Between the buildings, gardens designed as outdoor living areas are created, which are assigned to the ground-floor apartments. The level of the first floors is raised compared to the courtyard, ensuring sufficient privacy of the residential gardens.

Overall, the Living at the Hill Park project will comprise 206 high-standard rental and condominium units, offering residents contemporary living in a green environment.
