Festival Hall Rosenfeld

Competition 2005 Execution: 2006 - 2008 Construction Costs: ca. 2.5 Mio € Location: Rosenfeld Client: Town of Rosenfeld Hugo-Häring-Award Neckar-Alb 2011 Photography: Thomas Herrmann

The new festival hall has been constructed on the site of a demolished hall and references the volume of the former building. The detached positioning and reduction of the building’s volume lend the festival hall a powerful presence in the public space. The main entrance is facing the square. The façade, made of fibre cement shingles, wraps around the compact building with rounded corners, resembling a dress. The entrances to the adjacent schools with their corresponding schoolyards have been redesigned. A spacious courtyard has been created between the buildings, which can also be used as a festival square.
